Effective April 18, 2008
Residents in Broward, Collier, Miami-Dade, Monroe, St. Lucie -- and in coastal areas of Lee, Martin and Palm Beach counties, may irrigate TWO days a week, on the following schedule:
Residents and businesses with an ODD numbered address (ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, 9) - lawn watering is permitted on WEDNESDAYS and SATURDAYS from 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. and/or from 4 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
Residents and businesses with an with an EVEN numbered address (ending in (0, 2, 4, 6, 8*), no street address, or who water both even and odd addresses within the same zones, including multi-family units and Homeowner Associations - lawn watering is permitted on THURSDAYS and SUNDAYS from 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. and/or from 4 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
Residents should CHOOSE from ONE of TWO "watering windows" on their designated irrigation days. For the most efficient use of water, residents should AVOID irrigating during both time periods on the same day

The South Florida Water Management District has approved the City's proposal to move residents who are on the one-day watering schedule to the current two-day schedule in effect for dual-water users. The change is effective April 18. The SFWMD announced earlier that it was modifying their Phase III restrictions to allow two days of watering. The area now is under Phase II emergency water shortage restrictions.
In Cape Coral, residents who are not on the City's dual-water system including residents on wells will be permitted to water two days per week. To help avoid confusion, the City has proposed that these residents move to the current two-day schedule in place for dual-water users.
Here is the two-day schedule that will be in effect for all of Cape Coral:

Non-residential, duplexes and other multi-family units can water on Monday and Friday from 12 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Water Conservation Tips from SFWMD

Who Can I Call to Report a Watering Violation?
For residents within unincorporated Lee County they can call 239-274-2547 to report a watering violation.
For residents living within the City of Cape Coral, City of Bonita Springs, City of Sanibel and Captiva Island, City of Ft. Myers, and the Town of Ft. Myers Beach they should contact their local law enforcement or code enforcement to report watering violations.
Where Can I Go To Apply For A Variance?
If you can not meet the new irrigation restrictions, you may apply for a variance through the SFWMD. Your application will be reviewed by South Florida Water Management District staff, and approval or denial is based on criteria listed in the Water Shortage Plan Rule.
